About Kelly McGannon

Picture
Growing up, Kelly McGannon had what she considered a pretty normal childhood. She wrote and put on plays for the neighborhood, ran wild in the local woods, dressed up in her mother's prom dresses, held court on her parents' back deck, and organized tea parties for her "imaginary" friends.

It was only until much later in life that she realized people around her did not always see, hear, or sense what she did. Those imaginary friends? NOT so imaginary after all. Fortunately for Kelly, her larger family had gifts of its own and helped her to understand what she was experiencing. Her family encouraged her to trust her skills and to use them in the wider world to help others.

As Kelly traveled the world, she encountered many other healers and energy workers who told her the same things her family and friends did: "You have tremendous gifts of clairvoyance and healing. Share them with others!" Sage advice Kelly decided to take to heart  upon launching Bridge Between Two Worlds.

A long-time martial arts practitioner, Kelly's fascination with the metaphysical world and energy systems has led her to study several different healing modalities with teachers and traditional healers around the world. Today, she is a certified leadership/life coach (see coaching page for more information), professional Usui Reiki practitioner, Psychic Medium, Shamanic practitioner, and explorer of the dream world.

Kelly is a graduate of Saint Mary's College (B.A. in Humanistic Studies, minor in Religious Studies), Yale University Divinity School (M.A.R in Religion and Art), and Princeton University (M.A. in Art History). She is also a graduate of the Holistic Studies Institute (New York City, NY) and several workshops and trainings with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, including its Three-Year Program of Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing (click here for bio page). Kelly completed her certificate in life/leadership coaching with New Ventures West in November 2014. She is currently learning more about somatic-based healing modalities, like Trauma Release Exercise and Somatic Experiencing.

Kelly is also a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams and presented a workshop at the June 2012 IASD conference on the shamanic approach toward recurring dreams. In March 2013, she published an article entitled "Following Ancestral Dream Lines" in the winter issue of Dream Time magazine.

When she is not exploring the "betwixt and between," Kelly spends as much time as she can in nature, practices yoga and mediation daily, and creates new worlds in her works of poetry and fiction. Some samples of her writing can be found at So To Speak, Outside In Travel and Literary Magazine, Braided Way, and Teach.Yoga.

Kelly currently works with clients in person in the greater Washington D.C. metro area and internationally via phone and Skype. Her clients have included high-performing employees and change agents at the United Nations, US Institute of Peace, Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense, Leadership Connection, George Washington University, The Washington Post, and the White House, among others. She has also coached executives in the private sector, as well as individuals in the military, higher education, health care, and the arts.
